The world’s first insect-fed salmon has been launched by insect producer Protix.

The so-called Friendly Salmon is the result of collaboration called Aquafly between Protix and various industrial and research partners. The salmon are reared on insect meal made from the larvae of the black soldier fly, replacing fishmeal made from wild-caught fish.
