Eleven McDonald's restaurants in the Sheffield area have completed a test programme turning waste into energy, and found it has helped reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. McDonald's said the experiment in had cut its carbon impact from waste disposal (NB not overall carbon) by 54%. For more information see here.
