The Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases - launched at the Copenhagen climate summit in December - held its first meeting in Wellington, New Zealand, in April 2010, with 28 of the 29 member states in attendance. The report, "Winds of Change: East Asia’s Sustainable Energy Future", says major investments in energy efficiency and a concerted switch to renewable sources of power in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam could simultaneously stabilize greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy security while improving local environments.
