About the Project
Help shape the future of sustainable farming. This internship is part of a cutting-edge collaboration
between the University of Oxford and Pilgrim’s Europe, tackling one of the biggest challenges and
opportunities in UK agriculture: improving the sustainability of pig farming.
You’ll play a hands-on role in gathering vital data from farmers across the country, insights that will
feed directly into world-class research and industry action on climate-smart farming.
What You’ll Do
• Engage with farmers: Conduct structured telephone interviews, building rapport and
collecting reliable data.
• Collect and record accurate date: Record responses in survey tools and check figures (kg, t,
kWh, L) for accuracy and plausibility.
• Feedback and collaborate with the team: Regularly feedback to the team to summarise your
progress, highlight trends etc.

 

Hosts: University of Oxford, in collaboration with Pilgrim’s Europe
Location: UK-based in Suffolk, or remote with occasional trips to Oxford and Suffolk (travel
expenses covered as appropriate)
Duration: 8–12 weeks | Start: asap, e.g. approximately June 8th, End: by July 31st

Paid: (good salary, e.g. £16.92 per hour for an undergraduate) with paid holiday leave pro rata
Hours: Full time (part time can be considered on a case-by-case basis)
