Nature-based Solutions Symposium call for papers

As part of the Capacity-building, Pedagogy and Knowledge Exchange component of our Joined Up Landscapes  project, partners at Birkbeck, University of London are hosting a symposium later this year to explore how we can translate evidence, modelling and field knowledge into more creative, participatory and public-facing forms. Recognising the importance of perception and understanding of and trust in Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for its uptake, we will investigate how NbS can better support climate adaptation in food and land systems in the UK. The symposium will be divided into two complementary sessions; the first will explore evidence, theory and framing for the implementation of NbS in working landscapes. This opening session will help to shape some of the questions to be addressed in the second session, which will have more of a focus on, communication, art-making, pedagogy and knowledge exchange in practice. We are seeking proposals in a wide range of formats and from a diverse range of presenters (from farmers to policymakers to artists). Submission deadline 16 October.

Session 1 - Friday 20 November: evidence, theory, framing, implementation and Nature-based Solutions in working landscapes
Session 2 - Friday 4 December: practice, communication, art-making, pedagogy and knowledge exchange
