Lin Batten is a PhD researcher at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow analysing the financialisation of agricultural land in Scotland. In this, she adopts an interdisciplinary approach connecting law, finance, and society. She previously gained legal research and organisational experience through her work with Wageningen University as a research assistant for the Law Group and the coordinator of the Wageningen Centre of Sustainability Governance. She moreover has over 8 years of professional and academic experience in the agri-food sector, specialising in agri-environmental law and policy, seed legislation, and land use and management. Moreover, she is deeply involved in her own local agrarian community and has been a voluntary trustee of a small-scale local food growing and nature restoration initiative for over 4 years.
