How is the UK Government's Food Strategy for England looking one year on?

'The Good Food Cycle: a bumpy ride? How is the UK Government’s Food Strategy for England looking one year on?'.

When the UK Government launched it's Food Strategy for England in July 2025, it had promising elements but lacked policies. Twelve months on, during this webinar Dan will discuss where do we stand now? What has the food strategy done for fairer, healthier, more sustainable food systems so far and how hopeful should we be that it will deliver in the years ahead?

Dan Crossley is Executive Director at the Food Ethics Council, the not-for-profit whose mission is to put people, animals and planet at the heart of every food decision. Dan has worked on food sustainability issues for 20 years, leading work on a range of issues, from our relationship with meat to tackling household food insecurity to power dynamics in the food system. He believes in fair and inclusive policymaking. He writes a regular monthly column for the Grocer. Dan is a member of the FSA Consumer Stakeholder Forum and is on the External Advisory Board for the Global Food and Environment Institute at the University of Leeds.

The session will start with welcomes and introductions from the Chair, Professor Stephen Whitfield, followed by a 20-minute presentation by Dan Crossley. Afterwards, there will be 10 minutes for questions and answers.
