UK Research and Innovation is offering two vacancies to work on food security.
One vacancy is in the The Global Food Security Programme team which tackles issues of food security bringing together major UK public funders to achieve their mission. The portfolio manager would be responsible for implementation of the Global Food Security programmes strategic priorities, working with partners and coordinating activities.
The other vacancy is being offered in The Bioscience for Sustainable Agriculture and Food team which oversees and provides leadership to the food security research priorities of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). The Portfolio manager would be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the BBSRC’s food security strategy, working and connecting with partners and increasing awareness of activities of the BBSRC.
Both positions are suited for individuals with a masters degree/PhD or related experience in a subject relevant to food security as well as experience in research strategy/policy development.
