We are seeking a Programme Facilitator to be central to implementing the 3-year ‘Enabling National Processes of Foresight for Food Systems Transformation ( FaST)’ programme, and other Foresight4Food activities. Drawing on the University’s world-leading expertise, The Foresight4Food Initiative aims to support better analysis and synthesis of key trends and plausible futures in global food systems to enable informed and strategic dialogue between the private sector, government, science and civil society. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting edge of foresight and food systems transformation. The FaST programme is being funded by the Netherlands Government through the International Fund for Agricultural Development ( IFAD) to assist follow up to the United Nations Food Systems Summit.
The successful candidate will play a strategic role in expanding the international profile and portfolio of Foresight4Food (F4F) and in delivering FaST. You will be expected to contribute to resource planning and project management; provide expert advice and make recommendations through briefings, presentations and written reports, and in particular to facilitate the delivery of F4F and FaST programmes and related activities working with senior government, industry, NGO and other academic stakeholders. You will also facilitate on-line and face-to-face events with key global, regional and national network members. You will lead the development and management of a web-based resource portal on foresight and food systems and lead the design and production of resource and training materials. Other duties include writing reports and helping raise funds.
You must hold, or be near to completion, a Master’s degree or higher, or have equivalent experience. You will have international experience of team-based facilitation of food system analysis, and foresight and scenarios with experience working in Africa and/or Asia and a knowledge of the food systems and research institutions in these regions. Demonstrable excellent facilitation and communication skills with a strong ability to work and communicate at senior level across Government, science, business and civil society, and across cultures are essential. High level writing skills with the ability to produce high quality scientific and non-scientific publications, including blogs is a must.
